Jason Muzzicato Investigation
This module examines the case of Jason Muzzicato, who used a UAS to terrorize his ex-girlfriend, her friends, her family, and an entire town. These crimes were the first of their kind on record and caused the local Police Department to call in multiple agencies -including the FBI, the Bethlehem, PA Fire Department, and the DOJ, among others. Participants will learn about the methods that law enforcement used to discover the source and perpetrators in the bizarre crimes that were occurring in this small town in Pennsylvania, the laws and agencies used to both obtain a search warrant and prosecute these crimes, as well as the impact on its victims. Participants will learn about the crimes the local Police Department were dealing with, the roles and limits put on each agency, and the ways in which those agencies leaned on particular laws to get around those limitations. They will also learn about the way in which a law enforcement UAS was used to discover essential evidence that helped break the case.
Target Attacks on Houses of Worship
Targeted Attacks on Houses of Worship provides an overview of the escalating concerns for potential threats of harm against religious institutions and Houses of Worship. Recent intelligence information suggests the potential for attacks against Houses of Worship within the United States has increased, and there is a greater need for vigilance. This case study reviews some of the most prominent religious targets and provides background information about the most likely methodology for those attacks. A brief review of several domestic and international incidents demonstrates the potential magnitude these events can have within a community.
